Terms of Service
Last updated: April 24, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the services provided by Selflessly, Inc. (“Selflessly,” “we,” “our”) through our website at selflessly.io and our platform at app.selflessly.io (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized by your employer (for employer-sponsored accounts) to use the Services. By creating an account, you represent that all information provided is accurate.
2. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, all activity under your account, and notifying us immediately of unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You may not: violate laws or regulations; submit false information; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with platform operation; use the Services for money laundering or terrorist financing; misrepresent your identity or nonprofit status; scrape or reverse-engineer the platform.
4. Donations and financial transactions
- All donations are processed through Stripe and are final once confirmed
- Tax receipts are generated automatically — consult your tax advisor for deductibility
- Matching gifts are subject to employer policy and approval
- Selflessly facilitates transactions but does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice
5. Intellectual property
The Services, including Phil AI, the 10 Ways to Do Good™ framework, Selflessly Score, and all associated content, are owned by Selflessly, Inc. You retain ownership of content you create but grant us a license to use it for providing the Services.
6. Phil AI
Phil is an AI assistant that provides recommendations and takes actions within the platform. Phil's outputs are suggestions, not professional advice. Selflessly is not liable for actions taken based on Phil's recommendations. Your data processed by Phil is governed by our Privacy Policy.
7. Employer-sponsored accounts
If your employer sponsors your Selflessly account, your employer is the data controller for employment-related data. Your employer sets program rules (matching caps, eligible nonprofits, VTO policies). If you leave your employer, you may transition to an individual account.
8. Nonprofit accounts
Nonprofits must maintain valid 501(c)(3) status (US) or equivalent. Selflessly may suspend accounts if tax-exempt status lapses. Nonprofits must use received funds for their stated charitable purpose.
9. Subscription and billing
Employer plans are billed monthly or annually. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. You can upgrade anytime (prorated) or downgrade at renewal. Cancellation takes effect at end of current billing period.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Selflessly's total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Marion County, Indiana.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
